Terms of Service

1. Who provides Runback

Runback is provided by [OPERATOR LEGAL NAME], at [POSTAL ADDRESS]. In these Terms, “Runback,” “we,” and “us” refer to that operator.

2. What Runback provides

Runback provides a public record and analysis of fighting game tournament brackets. It also provides account features, profile claims, saved Matchup lists, Top 8 design tools, image export, and related functions.

Tournament data can be incomplete, delayed, merged from aliases, or wrong at its source. Rankings and statistics are calculated from the records available to Runback. They are not official tournament rulings, seeding advice, eligibility decisions, or promises about a player's skill.

3. Accounts

You must be at least 16 to create an account. You must give accurate account information and keep your sign-in method secure. You are responsible for activity under your account unless you promptly tell us about unauthorized use.

You must not claim a player profile that is not yours. Runback can ask for more proof, deny a claim, remove a claim, or merge duplicate player records when needed to protect the public record.

You can connect third-party accounts. Your use of those providers is also subject to their terms. Runback is not responsible for a provider's availability or account decisions.

4. Your content

You keep any rights that you have in text and images that you submit. You confirm that you have the rights and permissions needed to upload and use that content.

You give Runback a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, copy, process, resize, display, and distribute your content only as needed to operate, secure, improve, and provide the service. This license lasts while Runback needs the content for those purposes, subject to legal duties and reasonable backup cycles.

If you make a Top 8 design public, you also allow people with the link to view the design and copy it into their own Runback account. A copy can include your uploaded logo and background. Do not share a design if you do not have the right to permit that use.

You must not submit content that is unlawful, deceptive, abusive, hateful, sexually exploitative, malicious, or an infringement of another person's rights. You must not submit private personal information about another person without a valid reason and permission.

Runback can remove content or restrict an account when reasonably needed to enforce these Terms, protect people, follow the law, or operate the service.

5. Public tournament records

Runback can import, organize, and display public tournament records and calculate statistics from them. These records can remain after an account is unlinked or deleted because they are part of the public tournament record.

If a record is wrong or connected to the wrong person, contact hi@runback.gg. Runback can check the public source, correct a supported field, or merge duplicate identities. Runback does not promise to remove an accurate public result only because a competitor no longer wants an account.

6. Acceptable use

You must not:

• break the law or another person's rights
• access another user's account or private saved item without permission
• bypass access controls, rate limits, or security checks
• upload malware or interfere with the service
• use automated requests in a way that disrupts Runback or imposes unreasonable load
• pretend to be another person or make a false profile claim
• use Runback to harass, threaten, or expose private information about another person
• remove ownership notices from user content when that removal would infringe a right

Runback can rate-limit or block traffic that harms reliability or security. If you need regular automated access, contact us first.

7. Third-party services and links

Runback uses and links to services such as start.gg, Discord, Google, Cloudflare, PlanetScale, streaming sites, and social platforms. Those services have their own terms and privacy practices, including the start.gg Privacy Policy(opens in new tab). Runback does not control their content, availability, or decisions.

8. Service changes and account action

Runback can add, change, suspend, or remove product functions. We will try to give notice before a material change that affects saved account content, but urgent security, legal, or provider changes can require immediate action.

You can stop using Runback at any time. To request account deletion while self-service deletion is unavailable, email hi@runback.gg.

Runback can suspend or close an account that materially or repeatedly breaks these Terms, threatens users or the service, or creates legal risk. Where practical, we will explain the reason and give a way to contact us.

9. Intellectual property

Runback's software, design, name, and original content are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These Terms do not transfer ownership of Runback to you.

Third-party tournament data, names, marks, images, and user content remain subject to the rights of their owners. Display in Runback does not mean that Runback owns or endorses them.

10. Disclaimers

Runback is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the extent permitted by law. Runback does not promise that the service will always be available, secure, complete, or error-free. Runback does not promise that imported data or calculated statistics are complete or suitable for a particular decision.

Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty or consumer right that the law does not permit us to exclude.

11. Limits of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Runback and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss, or for lost data, revenue, profit, opportunity, or goodwill that results from use of the service.

To the extent permitted by law, Runback's total liability for claims connected to the service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid Runback in the 12 months before the claim or US $100. This limit does not apply where the law does not permit it, including liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

12. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by [GOVERNING LAW AND VENUE], without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts with jurisdiction under that rule will hear disputes, unless mandatory consumer law gives you the right to use another court or process.

13. Changes to these Terms

Runback can update these Terms when the product, providers, or law changes. The page will show the new last-updated date. If a material change affects account use, Runback will give additional notice where practical or required. Continued use after the effective date means that you accept the updated Terms, where the law permits this method of acceptance.

14. General terms

If one part of these Terms is not enforceable, the remaining parts continue to apply. A delay in enforcing a term is not a waiver. You cannot transfer your rights under these Terms without our consent. Runback can transfer these Terms as part of a reorganization, financing, acquisition, or sale of the service, subject to applicable law.

These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the complete agreement about use of Runback, except for any separate written agreement that applies to you.
